Last night a small slice of industrial Jefftown, aka Bushwick, was transformed into a beachy EDM rager, complete with tons of sand (apparently imported from France), palm trees (origin unknown), and thousands of happy dance fans who only seemed to get happier as the day-into-night wore on.
The occasion was the fifth annual Full Moon Festival, which moved to this location at the Brooklyn Mirage after four years on Governors Island. There were some 14 bands and DJs on two stages, inside and out, including Yelle, Wolf + Lamb, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Soul Clap, and Tensnake.

But just right for Jefftown (Scott Lynch / Gothamist)
Lots of food booths, plenty of booze options (sno-cone, popsicle, regular old liquid in a can or cup), some half-hearted art, and lovely views of the Manhattan skyline across the river rounded out the entertainment options. Oh, and dancing—mostly done on the increasingly jam-packed "beach", usually wearing a bit of face paint and very little clothing. It must be said, though, that the outfits at Full Moon Fest were MUCH less outlandish/porny than you'll find at Electric Zoo.
