Bottomless drunches are well-trodden territory, but now there's something for gluttons of the egg variety with a bottomless food brunch
at Hecho en Dumbo on the Bowery. Bring your appetite for Chilaquiles Rojos con Cecina with salt-cured steak, Short Rib Sliders with jalapeno relish, Red Snapper Flautas and five other AYCE dishes. The deal runs $20 per person and for an extra $20 they'll throw in a traditional bottomless brunch as well, with Margaritas, Micheladas and their special Sangria with Malbec and vodka.
The lovely Queens Botanical Garden hosts their second annual Taste the World: Botanical Brew Fest on Saturday, offering sips of beers and ciders from the likes of North Coast, Blue Point, Downeast Cider House and quite a few more. During the two sessions (noon - 3 p.m. or 4 to 7 p.m.), guests can drink and wander the grounds while listening to live music and eating, just like visitors to the World's Fair's of 1939 and 1964 did on the fairgrounds nearby. Snag early bird tickets today for $35 or pay $50 at the door.
Staten Island's Flagship Brewery plays host to a giant hog this weekend at their outdoor Pig Roast on Sunday afternoon. From noon until 8 p.m., swing by the large outdoor space adjacent to their St. George taproom for some finger-licking swine courtesy of Taste of Honey Caterers, who are also offering up stuffing, coleslaw, kettle chips and some veggie burgers for the meat averse. And of course, there'll be lots of beer for purchase, including the brewery's new Flagship IPA, their seasonal Pastime Summer Ale and all of their other tasty brews. Local SI talent Paraiso, Giant Flying Turtles and Uncle Dan's Band will also be on hand for some musical entertainment.
Lower East Side coffee venue Spreadhouse hosts the Vegan Shop-Up this Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., featuring a lineup of food vendors, accessories, beauty products and more cruelty-free goods. Stock up on vegan cheese from Cheezhound, vegan dishes from CT's ION Restaurant and veggie-based "meats" from Monks Meats. There'll also be coffees and teas on hand, to fuel an afternoon of impulse handmade soap purchases.
