Police have released a sketch of one of the two men allegedly responsible for a racist attack on a cyclist in Williamsburg early Sunday morning.
According to an NYPD release, this man and another white man approached a 25-year-old cyclist near Leonard and Jackson Streets shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday morning "and began saying racial remarks to him." The two suspects then knocked the man off his bicycle "and repeatedly punched and kicked him causing a contusion to his right eye."
The Daily News reported that the two men told the victim, a Hispanic man who was biking to work, "You fucking immigrant. You don't belong in this country."
Police estimate that suspect at left is between 25 and 35 years old. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the crime.
Anyone with information on the attack is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or to submit a tip to their website, www.nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All tips are confidential.
