A Hispanic man biking to work in Williamsburg yesterday was assaulted by two white men who beat him and called him a "fucking immigrant."

According to the Daily News' police sources, the 25-year-old man was biking near Jackson and Leonard Streets at around 12:25 p.m. 5:15 a.m. when he was shoved off his bicycle by the two men, who punched and kicked him and hit him with a skateboard.

"You fucking immigrant. You don't belong in this country," the men allegedly told the victim.

The Daily News reports that the victim was treated at Woodhull Hospital for minor injuries, and that the NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the crime.

Detective Kelly Ort, answering the phone at the NYPD's press office, had no information on the attack, which occurred in the 94th Precinct.

The number of misdemeanor assaults reported in the 94th Precinct have increased from 113 to 147 over the past year [PDF], an increase of 30%, while the number of felony assaults have increased from 52 to 59.
