A 21-year-old man was gunned down, with his one-year-old daughter in his arms, in the Bronx yesterday afternoon. Police are looking for the shooter, who apparently killed Allen McQueen after an argument. A witness told the Daily News, "The guy shot a man with a baby. Who does that? Who shoots a man holding a baby?"

According to the police, they responded to a call about a shooting in front of 1535 Taylor Avenue around 13:19 p.m. They found McQueen, who lived at 1517 Taylor Avenue, with a gunshot wound to his head. Police believe that McQueen was approached by a man, who fired at him, prompting McQueen to run down the street while holding his baby, named Taylor, in his arms. The gunman then fired twice more, hitting McQueen once in the back of the head, before fleeing in a grey Mercedes with unknown NY plates.

Witnesses tell the Post that McQueen was trying to shield the baby from the gunfire. When he fell to ground, Taylor tumbled to the sidewalk.

"The guy who got shot had the baby in his hands. He was trying to run for cover because he was trying to protect the little girl," one witness told the tabloid, adding, "Once he got hit, he went down, and the child went down with him. The guy who did the shooting was running away and laughing. He seemed like an insane person."

Arielle Corkery saw the shooting and told WABC 7, "I saw him take his last breath. I saw him spit up blood. I grabbed the baby from underneath him, she was drenched in blood. She was in shock she was just staring up into the sky."

McQueen was reportedly a gang member—the "leader of the Taylor Ave. crew"—and had nearly two dozen arrests (the Post says, "He was shot last summer and had a sealed arrest for attempted murder in 2014"). His father said, "He had problems with other people, but he’s young. He was a good dad. He had just left our house, too. He said he was taking her to the park."

Baby Taylor was treated for a bump on her head at Jacobi Hospital. Police released surveillance video of the suspect and ask anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
