A man wanted for menacing people around Chelsea had a run-in with police this week that ended with him being Tasered—not that it seemed to bother him that much.
The incident in the video below happened on W. 24th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues on Thursday. Police say that Robert Bolster, 54, had displayed a knife and waved it at people walking by in the vicinity of 23rd Street and 6th Avenue that afternoon. A witness said he was also brandishing a cane and menacing people with that.
Cops were flagged down and they tracked him to the building at 43 W. 24th Street around 3 p.m. Although the man appears to be cooperating in the video, police say he resisted arrest, and one cop Tasered him—he treats it like he was just bitten by a gnat, not electroshocked.
You can hear the man yell "stop that" (and what sounds like, "There's no need for that") after he brushes aside the Taser darts.
Bolster was arrested and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He has at least six prior arrests stretching back to 1985 for crimes including robbery, grand larceny, criminal trespass, and criminal possession of a weapon.
