A man riding a Far Rockaway-bound A train yesterday evening slashed a female straphanger in the neck at the Euclid Avenue stop.
The woman was a Swedish tourist headed to JFK to catch a flight, the Post reports.
The suspect approached his 29-year-old victim around 6:15 p.m., according to the NYPD. He then "slashed her on the neck" with an unidentified sharp object, before running from the train and out of the station. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition, and was treated and released for the laceration on her neck.
Witnesses told the Post that the suspect and victim did not exchange words before the slicing took place. (Cops also confirmed to the tabloid that the victim missed her scheduled flight.)
The suspect is between 25 and 30 years old, and was last seeing wearing a black sweater and sweatpants, and a dark-colored baseball hat.
In February, a man went on a slashing spree in and around the Union Square subway station. He slashed three straphangers on the 4 train with a box cutter, and three other people on his way up to to street level. Police subsequently arrested a suspect.
