Three people were fatally shot, three people were injured, and one person was knifed to death in separate incidents in The Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn last night.
Police say that a victim whose name hasn't been released yet was shot in the back of the neck and head around 6:30 p.m. on W. Burnside Avenue near Loring Place South in The Bronx on Friday. The victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition; cops add he is expected to survive. No arrests have been made. You can see graphic video of the aftermath of that incident below.
Then, 23-year-old Joel Rivera was killed when he was shot in the neck on Andrews Avenue near W. 176th Street in Morris Heights around 11:30 p.m. About two hours after that, a 22-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds to his body at East 143rd Street and Third Avenue. That man was taken to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was declared dead. No arrests have been made in either of those incidents.
Three people were shot after an argument turned deadly in a courtyard at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City around 2:35 a.m. Jahhad Marshall, 23, was killed after being shot in the back of the head. An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg and a 29-year-old woman was shot in the right arm in that incident; both are in stable condition.
"An argument started and some people started shooting," Marshall's neighbor Monica Brown told the News. She added that Marshall wasn't part of the argument: "He was an innocent bystander," Brown said. "Just wrong place, wrong time."
Then around 4 a.m., a 40-year-old man was shot multiple times in the torso at the Marcus Garvey Houses in East New York. He was declared dead at Brookdale Hospital. No arrests have been made in either of those incidents.
