Bucolic Bethel Woods, the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, was transformed into a young adult's playground for the four-day Mysteryland Music Festival over the holiday weekend. Diplo was the closing night headliner, capping off a surreal festival filled with a flaming geodesic dome and a life-size version of the childhood game Mousetrap, among many other oddities.

The Incendia dome with its fireproof roof, allowing fire to chase flames of propane, proved to be a dazzling attraction (which also provided much-needed warmth on the cold Friday night) and there were also numerous fire-breathing performers. Meanwhile, the life-sized version of Mousetrap, in all its Rube Goldberg glory, smashed a junk car.

There were also numerous interactive acts, from the Big Head Brigade to the True Mirror. Overall attendance for the EDM festival was 50,000, with 10,000 attendees selling out the camping options (a 35% increase over 2014).

Click around to enjoy photographer Tod Seelie's pictures from the weekend. And for anyone working on their outfits for Governors Ball, Seelie reports that the dominant fashion trends were headdresses, American flags and face jewels.
