Bill Murray connoisseur Bill Murray is doing the most Bill Murray thing he can think of next winter: starring in a Billy Murray Christmas special.
A Very Murray Christmas is directed and co-written by Sofia Coppola with Murray and Mitch Glazer, and will have a suitably meta narrative, according to Variety: "The comedian worries no one will show up to his TV show due to a massive snowstorm in New York City. Through luck and perseverance, guests arrive at Gotham’s Carlyle hotel to help him — dancing and singing in holiday spirit."
As for who will be appearing in the special, take a deep breath, the WSJ has you covered.
Joining “A Very Murray Christmas” will be George Clooney, Paul Shaffer, Amy Poehler, Julie White, Dimitri Dimitrov, Michael Cera, Chris Rock, David Johansen, Maya Rudolph, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Phoenix, Frederic Moulin, Rashida Jones, Miley Cyrus, and more.
But will it be as good as Scrooged? It's not really a Murray Xmas movie until the ghost of Miles Davis appears.
