Food is a cruel tease when you're hungover, isn't it? It seems like a good idea to soothe your liver with a loaf of bread, but once you're thoroughly stuffed, your body is back under attack. Right? Good talk. Well, there are things to eat today and places to eat them. Here's what's on tap:

On Tuesday, Strip House Midtown in...Midtown...is throwing a wine dinner with offerings from Napa Valley vineyard Pahlmeyer. The $175 five-course meal includes dishes like Roasted Mangalitsa Pork Collar, a Smoked 40-Day Dry-Aged 1885 NY Strip, and Seared Diver Scallop Almondine, all paired with Pahlmeyer wines. The meal kicks off at 6:30 p.m., and you can reserve a spot through the restaurant.

On Wednesday, Hotel Chantelle on the Lower East Side will launch its seasonal Rooftop Lobster Bake: "Maine Squeeze." $34.92 scores you a whole lobster, steamed littleneck claims, baked red russet potatoes and corn on the cobb, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Wednesday. The feat takes place on the roof and comes paired with reggae music; if you purchase tickets online, you get a complimentary beer or specialty cocktail, though you can also make a reservation through the restaurant.

Head to Il Buco Alimentari in NoHo on Thursday for a special bread-baking class, hosted by master baker Kamel Saci. Participants will learn how to make ciabatta and a rhubarb bread, and since bread is the food of the gods, these lessons are likely the most important you'll learn in life. The class runs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and costs $100 to attend; make a reservation through the restaurant.

And on Friday, The Cheeses of Europe is hosting a free cheese-tasting event at The French Cheese Board in Midtown, with tons of cheeses on hand from 11 a.m. o 7 p.m. for ardent dairy fans. If you're around during lunchtime, the Gorilla Cheese NYC truck'll be doling out free grilled cheeses and mac and cheese samples from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.; there'll also be plenty of half-price French cheeses on sale if you want to take a snack home with you.
