No watches, no warnings, no alerts, no weather of any note today other than blue skies and a high in the mid-70s this afternoon.

This month has been rather dry, and while there is a chance of showers tomorrow, April is likely to wind up with less than half its normal precipitation. As you can see on the graph below, despite the recent lack of rainfall, precipitation is running pretty close to normal so far this year. The reservoir levels upstate are also right about where they should be for late April. It's a different story out west where two-thirds of California is experiencing extreme to exceptional drought and almost no rain fell during San Francisco's rainy season.

A cold front sneaking down from New England this evening will bring a cool easterly wind tomorrow. Look for Thursday to warm only to the lower 60s and there might be a sprinkle or two in the afternoon. Even cooler weather, with a high in the upper 50s, is expected on Friday, but that will be the last cool day for a while.

The main axis of the jet stream will shift northward as the weekend progresses, allowing much warmer air to reach the region. The high should climb to the mid 60s on Saturday, near 70 on Sunday, and upper 70s, and possibly lower 80s, next week.
