Notice any common thread tying these flicks together? They all take place in the course of one 24 hour time period. “Some of my favorite movies take place over the course of a day, so I was very excited when our committee decided on this year’s theme,” stated Hilary Tholen, chair of the Conservancy’s volunteer film committee. “I look forward to seeing if it was Miss Scarlet in the library with the wrench in Clue, witnessing Cold War-era talk in the War Room with Dr. Strangelove and company, listening to some of my favorite actors say some of my favorite lines in Dazed and Confused, and cheering as John McClane tries to save the day in Die Hard, all in my favorite park in New York, with one of the best views in the world.”
Remember to get there early, as the lawn fills to capacity very fast, and to preserve your precious bodily fluids.
Disclosure: Gothamist is a media sponsor of this year's series.
