There comes a point in every New Yorker's life when he or she will stare into the deep abyss of their soul and imagine the nightmare headline they might inspire. It's rare to capture this gaze in the wild, but not impossible, as the photo above demonstrates. Make no mistake: this man could be any of us. This man is all of us.

The pic was taken on Wednesday on the G train at Court Square around 6:15 p.m. Mark Leger says the man, who was alone with two bikes, was taking up five seats on a crowded rush hour train: "Nobody said anything for the period that I was on the train, between Court Square and Metropolitan/Lorimer," Leger said. "I was tempted, but didn't trust myself not to lose my temper. I'm a bicyclist myself, and would never dream of behaving in that manner."

There are plenty of times when it is okay (or even necessary) to bring your bike on the train. There are plenty of times when it is not. Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar, well, he eats you. This man clearly knows where he lands on the sliding scale of train etiquette morality.

"His look read as clueless and entitled—but that could be my own interpretation," Leger added. "However, he didn't seem exhausted or zoned out; he was alert. People were giving him dirty looks, and he was actively avoiding their gaze."

To us, this man's expression screams, "Great, now I'm gonna be on Gothamist."
