The ever-changing face of Williamsburg's Bedford Avenue will welcome another newcomer sometime soon when East Village artisanal ice cream shop Davey's takes over the Williamsburg Creamery space between North 5th and North 6th Streets. The two year old shop told Bedford + Bowery that they'd sold their business to the Davey's crew and would cease operations at their shop last night. Someone at Davey's told the blog that it's "not official" yet; we've reached out to see if they're ready to confirm the news and we'll update if we hear back.
The Creamery did all sorts of ice cream products plus fro-yo, smoothies and even sandwiches, where Davey's focuses on mostly the frozen stuff plus coffee-type things. They're well-loved for their Strong Coffee flavored ice cream and some large sundaes. The new location is kind of hidden beneath the building but that's nothing a little colorful signage can't fix.
