Pray that Saturday's potential snowfall cripples your day plans, because this weekend's subway changes are unpleasant, to say the least. Though the L is somehow running smoothly (for now) so you can check out that sweet new Spin-the-Bottle bar in Bushwick before the Health Department shuts it down and spares the rest of us herpes.
ANYWAY. Here's what we're in for this weekend:
The 1 train will make express stops between 137th and 96th Streets on the South Ferry-bound track, starting at 11;45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. On that same track, trains will make express stops between Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street and 215th Street, starting at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday and ending at 10 p.m. on Sunday. 1 trains going in both directions will run every 16 minutes between 137th Street and 242nd Street, with changes in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
2 trains make local stops in both directions between 34th Street-Penn Station and Chambers Street, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. That same change is in effect for north and southbound 3 trains, from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
4 trains headed to Woodlawn will make express stops between Grand Central-42nd Street and 125th Street from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 6 a.m. on Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday. Crown Heights-Utica Avenue bound 4s will make local stops between Grand Central-42nd Street and Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. 5 trains will not run in either direction between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street, starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. Monday. Day and evening 5 trains will run every 20 minutes between East 180th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street.
The 6, meanwhile, will run express between Grand Central-42nd Street and 125th Street on the Pelham Bay Park-bound track, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. On the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall bound track, the 6 will make express stops between Pelham Bay Park and Parkchester; that change is in effect from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. on Monday.
The 7, shockingly, is not running between Times Square-42nd Street and Hunters Point Avenue in either direction, starting at 2:15 a.m. Saturday and ended at 4:30 a.m. on Monday. One day, Queens will have the 7 back. One day.
A trains will not run in either direction between Ozone Park-Lefferts Blvd and Rockaway Blvd. starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. Inwood-207 bound As will make express stops between Canal Street and 59th Street Columbus Circle. That change is in effect from 11:45 p.m. on Friday until 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, and then again from 11:45 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday. 168th Street-bound C trains will also make express stops between Canal Street and 59th Street-Columbus Circle between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
E trains will run express between Canal Street and 34th Street-Penn Station on the Jamaica Center-Parsons Archer bound track from 11:45 pm. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday; they will skip Spring Street, 23rd Street and 50th Street on the uptown track during this time. And WTC-bound E trains will make local stops between Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue, starting at 11 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday.
The D train will make all local stops between West 4th Street-Washington Square and 34th Street-Herald Square, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday. Norwood-205th Street bound D trains will make local stops between 36th Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.
F trains will skip 75th Avenue, Van Wyck Boulevard and Sutphin Boulevard on the Jamaica-179th Street bound track. That change is in effect starting at 10:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 5 a.m. on Monday.
J trains will not run at all between Hewes Street and Chambers Street from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. M trains will not run between Myrtle Avenue and Essex Street during that time.
N trains will make express stops on the Manhattan-bound track between 36th Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday and ending at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday. Service is extended on the Q to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and again from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Manhattan-bound Q trains will make express stops between Kings Highway and Prospect Park, starting at 5:45 a.m. and ending at 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
R trains will not run between 59th Street and 36th Street in Brooklyn in either direction; that service change is in effect from 11:45 p.m. on Friday to 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, and again from 11:45 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday. And Manhattan-bound R trains will make express stops between 36th Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The S shuttle will operate overnight from Saturday to Monday.
And that's not all! The E F M R trains are getting slapped with the fat fist of FASTRACK this week. From 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday night through Friday morning, there will be no E service between Roosevelt Avenue and World Trade Center; F trains will not run between Roosevelt Avenue and 21st Street-Queensbridge; M trains will stop running between 71st Avenue and Essex Street, and R service will end early between 71st Avenue and 36th Street in Brooklyn. Check the MTA's website for tips on getting around.
