A 1-year-old baby was shot in the leg in Brooklyn yesterday.

Police say that the baby, Sarina Arshi, was walking with her mother, 36-year-old Parvin Akhter, to a relative’s apartment on Rugby Road in Flatbush when someone opened fire around 3:45 p.m. It's unclear who they were shooting at, but Sarina was grazed in the leg.

Her father, Akbar Hossain, had just dropped the two off, and tried chasing the gunmen in his car. "I totally lost it," Hossain told the Daily News. "I tried to chase them, but they were running too fast." ABC says the family, who are from Bangladesh, were visiting relatives including Muhammad Sarwar.

The baby, who turns two in May, was taken to Kings County Hospital. "She’s OK," Sarwar, Sarina’s uncle, told the News. "They got caught in the middle of it. We just opened the door and I saw my niece bleeding."

Cops add that no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
