Tyreek Riley
A 15-year-old boy died after he fell from a Crown Heights building. He was apparently jumping between two buildings on a dare.
The incident occurred at 1153 President Street around 4:30 p.m. yesterday. According to NBC New York, "The boy was playing a sort of chase-and-tag game called Manhunt, and he tried to jump over a 10-foot gap from one four-story building to another, police said."
The boy, identified as Tyreek Riley, fell four stories and was pronounced dead at the scene. His father was seen outside the building, crying out, "My son. My boy. I want my boy! just want to give him a hug. What was he doing up there? Why did this happen?"
NBC New York reports, "Neighbors said local teens had been going to the roof lately to play, despite warnings from adults to stay out of the space."
One told WABC 7, "They're always up there, I say, 'You guys get down from there,' during the after school hours, I'm a teacher, when I come home from school they're running around up there, and I can hear them because I live on the top floor."
