Harlem's excellent eateries are getting their own much-deserved festival with the Harlem EatUp!, coming to the nabe in May. Today, organizers and founders—which include Marcus Samuelsson and honorary chair Bill Clinton—announced the lineup for the event, which includes four days of both paid and free events surrounding the "culinary, fine arts and performing arts scene only found in Harlem." Think dinners, culinary demos, and an open access "Stroll" through the area.

The festival kicks off with a "Dine In Harlem" ticketed dinner series at local spots like The Cecil ($125), Dinosaur Bar-B-Que ($85) and Marcus Samuelsson's forthcoming restaurant Streetbird Rotisserie ($85). Saturday's more of an educational day, with a sit-down talk with Gael Greene, Daniel Boulud, Alexander Smalls and Paul Qui about the city's evolving restaurant scene and a Day In The Life Of A Chef chat with TV personalities and chefs like Alex Guarnaschelli, Michael White and Scott Conant.

Saturday's also the day for the free walk around event The Stroll, which sets up Morningside Park with vendors of all sorts, plus The Avenue, where you can experience culinary demos and buy some food. Also on site, "The Experience," a ticketed event ($75) with four tents set up to highlight Harlem's art, music, style and dance scene. There, sample food from Harlem-based chefs, have a cocktail and experience some live performances.

The Harlem EatUp! kicks off on Thursday, May 14th and runs through Sunday, May 17th, with festivities for opening day as yet to be announced. Tickets go on sale this Friday for the dinners and the tasting events; beneficiaries for the festival include Citymeals-on-Wheels, who delivery meals to the city's elderly, and Harlem Park to Park, an organization that encourages commerce and helps small businesses in Central Harlem.
