"Alright, so what do we do, I try to throw it in your box?" asks one straphanger from across the tracks. "Noooo!" groans everyone, everywhere, aware that they're about to be party to a spectacular display of idiocy, if not outright death. But then he does it anyway, attempting a weak underhand that lobs the crumpled bill straight into the track bed. Naturally.
The apparent busker, without missing a beat, hops into the tracks to retrieve the bill, making sure to place his foot on each rail—first, second and third—before hopping back over. "Aww come on man," groans the bill-tosser, who could simply never have predicted this outcome.
"I'll give you $100 not to do that again," the tosser taunts, but he doesn't and the train comes and everyone gets on, frazzled but spared witnessing a catastrophe. Let's not make this a "thing."
