Hope you're ready to chill out this weekend. What little snow we did get this morning has pretty much ended. An arctic front will pass through the region this afternoon and it will bring bitterly cold air and nasty wind chills. Before the front arrives we should warm to the mid 30s, but the departing storm is strengthening as it heads toward Nova Scotia. The northwest breeze that results will make it feel more like the lower 20s this afternoon.

Once the front arrives the actual temperature will quickly drop to the lower 20s and the wind chill will plunge below zero and remain there overnight. The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for inland areas where the wind chill is expected to be between 15 and 20 degrees below zero until about noon tomorrow. Those are wind chills that will quickly cause frostbite and hypothermia so please do keep covered up if you have to be outside.

Tomorrow is going to be sunny, breezy, and cold. Saturday's high will only reach the low 20s and the wind chill is expected to remain below zero. The temperature will bounce back to near freezing on Sunday but that is going to be a temporary reprieve as this active weather pattern brings yet another chance for snow possibly late Sunday night but more likely during the day on Monday.

There is an almost zero percent chance that the new and improved Staten Island Chuck will see his shadow on Monday, as it is going to be cloudy and likely to be snowing. The disturbance in the jet stream that will produce this next storm is currently way out in western Canada, so there is quite a bit of uncertainty as to how much snow to expect. AccuWeather is on the high side calling for 6-10 inches and the National Weather Service giving a lowball forecast of 1-3 inches (though we suspect that will increase in their next forecast update).

Monday and Tuesday are going to be cold with highs in the lower 20s and lows in the single digits.
