phpMyzcL5PM.jpgThe Ghostbusters are coming back, and this time they're being played by kick-ass women: Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Melissa McCarthy will reportedly fill the proton packs once donned by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis. The Paul Fieg-directed reboot may start filming as early as this summer in NYC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, it's not completely a done deal—Melissa McCarthy has signed on, and "the studio is now negotiating with Kristen Wiig, as well as Saturday Night Live players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. Negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign."

It's been a long road up to this point, with a ton of casting rumors come and gone. In 2011 Bill Murray told Howard Stern he had a script for Ghostbusters 3 in his possession, saying, "You know, the studio gets excited every 10 years or so. What they'd really like to do is recreate the franchise."
