If you were watching Oz years ago and you thought, "Shit, the guy playing that unrepentant racist Vern Schillinger should be on Saturday Night Live...." your day has come! J.K. Simmons, fresh off an Oscar nomination for Whiplash, will be hosting the January 31 show.
Unclear if Lee Tergesen or Christopher Meloni will be making cameos. You know, for some Macbeth:
Hell, maybe Mariska Hargitay can stop by—Simmons had a recurring role on Law & Order as Dr. Emil Skoda, the NYPD psychiatrist. While Simmons lived in NYC for 20 years, he now resides far away from Studio 8H, in the land of palm trees:
Musical guest will be D'Angelo and the Black Vanguard—a week ahead of their Apollo show.
