At long last, the Manhattan Pies 'n' Thighs outpost has an opening date...and it's Monday! Residents of the Big Island should prepare by fasting through the weekend and feasting on a chicken biscuits once those doors prop open.
Last week, the Pies 'n' Thighs crew announced they'd debut their new spot on Canal Street sometime this month, and they confirmed with us that Monday is indeed D[oughnut] day. The menu remains largely unchanged from the one over at their Williamsburg flagship, though as we've noted previously, they're adding chicken soup with chicken dumplings, cauliflower gratin, and a collard green salad, along with a feisty-looking new sourdough donut.
Doors open at 43 Canal Street between Ludlow and Orchard Streets at 9 a.m. Monday, so you still have some time to stock up on elastic waistband jeans.
