At 3 p.m. today, Improv Everywhere will engage in a subterranean ritual that has lasted 14 years: a bunch of people will be on the subway and they will not be wearing pants.
For those who are interested in participating in the No Pants Subway Ride, pantsless people are converging at seven different points in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn (see them here). The ride takes approximately two hours, and there's an afterparty at Bar 13.
Others who view the No Pants Subway ride as a sophomoric dirge steeped in anxious conformity should probably lighten up. Life's too short to fume over a fleeting crowd of joyful exhibitionists. Zen is within reach, no lobotomy necessary.
