A three-vehicle collision involving an MTA bus in East Flatbush yesterday left 17 people with minor injuries and four others in critical condition.

Police say that shortly before 4 p.m. the driver of a Nissan Altima was backing out of a parking lot on Utica Avenue near the intersection of Clarendon Road when it was struck by the driver of a BMW sedan heading southbound on Utica. The sedan was thrust into the path of a northbound MTA bus and struck the driver's side.

The woman driving the Nissan was transported to Kings County in stable condition, while the four occupants of the BMW were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the bus was transported to SUNY Downstate Medical Center in stable condition, while EMS treated 16 of his passengers at the scene for minor injuries.

The NYPD's Highway Collision Squad is still investigating the incident.
