We know the subway can be very erotic for some, but it can also be plenty romantic. So instead of plunking down tens of thousands of dollars on some big wedding, 26-year-old Hector Irakliotis and 25-year-old Tatyana Sandler took things underground. Below, you can watch them exchange vows on the N train on Friday.

The couple told the News, who traveled alongside them for the subway nuptials, that the N train was very important during their courtship: "We’ve been through a lot. Good times, bad times, and a lot of the good times have taken place on the train," Irakliotis said. "Confessions of love, reconciliations, goofy, ridiculous conversations — the whole spectrum. In New York, you spend so much time on the train, we thought why not?"

The couple made it official around 4 p.m., just as the N train crossed the Manhattan Bridge from Brooklyn.

Sandler added it was the perfect setting for them: "I’m originally from Ukraine, and each time we’d come back here, I’d say to Hector, 'It doesn't feel like home until I see the skyline as we're crossing the bridge.' And he remembered that. He planned it out specifically so that we'd see the skyline as we were married," she explained.

The surprised passengers who were on the train at the time seemed totally onboard with everything. "I think it’s very cute! It’s romantic," said straphanger Debra Solomon. "This is definitely a first. And look how cooperative everyone is! That says a lot."

So for the record, subway nuptials—especially low-key sweet affairs like this one—are perfectly acceptable subway behavior.
