Comedian and alleged serial rapist Bill Cosby is still scheduled to perform in Tarrytown, New York next month, despite mounting allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted over a dozen women over the years. But if you purchased tickets and now no longer stomach Cosby's jokes about family life, you're in luck—the comedian's management team has agreed to refund tickets.
The two shows are scheduled at the Tarrytown Music Hall on December 6th, and though patrons have been asking for refunds in light of all the rape allegations, the venue initially said it could not afford to give them any. Yesterday, though, Cosby's team confirmed the comedian would reimburse ticketholders himself. "Mr. Cosby's management is now allowing for refunds for any patron's (sic) that do not wish to attend the show. Please let me know if I may cancel and refund your order," the Music Hall box office announced in an email yesterday.
A few other Cosby shows have been canceled nationwide, though the comedian still has 30 shows scheduled through the spring. So far, Cosby's Netflix special has been canceled and his NBC show scrapped. And a number of colleges with connections to Cosby have cut ties, including UMass Amherst, where Cosby received a masters and doctorate. "Bill Cosby has agreed to resign as an honorary co-chair of UMass Amherst's capital campaign. He no longer has any affiliation with the campaign nor does he serve in any other capacity for the university," a spokesman for the school told CNN this week.
