We never actually see Ross's coveted Thanksgiving sandwich in the season 5 Friends episode, appropriately titled, "The One with Ross's Sandwich." The description given, however, is one of a perfect Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich, created by Ross's sister Monica—"Her secret is, she puts an extra slice of gravy-soaked bread in the middle—I call it the Moist Maker."
This thing has even got it's own Facebook fan page, and making it is simple as long as you hoard enough leftovers—today, or tomorrow, here's what you'll need to grab from the fridge:
- 3 slices of bread
- Leftover Gravy
- Leftover Stuffing
- Leftover Turkey (Vegetarian? Leftover Tofurky works, too)
- Cranberry Sauce (optional)
You can put the sandwich together however you like, the important part is that the one gravy-soaked slice of bread needs to be in the middle. While some recipes online keep it simple, others have added lettuce and mayo to the mix. We'd recommend this one, which uses the above ingredients only, and separates the stuffing (on top) from the turkey (on the bottom), like so:
Post by Ross Gellar's Thanksgiving leftover Sandwich.
If you bring it to work tomorrow, don't forget the passive-aggressive note:
