A 61-year-old cyclist died last night after he was struck by a livery cab driver on East Houston Street.

The NYPD says that Shan Zheng, a resident of Ossining, NY, was traveling northbound on Pitt Street at around 9:58 p.m. yesterday when he was struck by the driver of a liver cab traveling eastbound on East Houston.

Zheng was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the 50-year-old cab driver stayed on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
