Tracy Morgan is still recovering from a serious brain injury he sustained in last June's multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The injury was so severe that the 46-year-old comedian may never be "the Tracy Morgan he once was," according to his attorney.

Morgan suffered a broken leg, nose and ribs when a Wal-Mart truck plowed into the limo he was riding in on the night of June 7th, and he underwent several surgeries. And though he was released from an area hospital in July and went through several weeks of rehab, his attorney, Benedict Morelli, says the comedian is still trying to overcome a traumatic brain injury. "He's fighting to get better, and if there's a chance for him to be back to the Tracy Morgan he once was, he's going to try to do that," Morelli told the Hollywood Reporter. "But we just don't know because of the severity of the injuries that he sustained and the fact that he had such a severe brain injury."

Morgan has sued Wal-Mart for the crash, which killed his friend and fellow comedian James McNair. The truck's driver, Kevin Roper, has not been named in the suit, but has been criminally charged with death by auto and auto assault. He had reportedly been awake for more than 24 hours at the time of the collision, and police believe he dozed off; an NTSB report found he had been driving 20 mph above the speed limit. Wal-Mart argued in September that Morgan and the other comedians traveling in the limo with him should have been wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
