Taking a page from JFK's playbook, Newark Liberty Airport and United Airlines have announced a $120 million makeover of Terminal C that will include some seriously upgraded dining options. Say goodbye to pre-made sandwiches and hello to haute cuisine from the likes of Alain Ducasse, Mario Carbone, Amanda Cohen and other big name chefs, plus some high tech menu and ordering systems that employ iPads instead of waiters.

Airport dining innovators OTG—who brought similar technology to JFK—will install nearly 6,000 iPads throughout the Terminal, where customers can purchase food items and other travel amenities in either dollars or by using their award miles. Part of the new system will debut in the next seven weeks, including an initial 1,000 iPads; the entire project is expected to be completed in the next 18 months.

Among the 55 new dining options slated for the space are a clam bar, Italian eatery and steakhouse from Mario Carbone; a dumpling-focused concept from Dale Talde; a vegetarian and vegan eatery by Amanda Cohen; a Jacques Torres bakery; an Alex Stupak taqueria; and many, many more. Talde will also operate Caps Beer Garden, with international brews and pub grub like banh mi sandwiches and broccoli and cheddar soup rangoon. There's also a wine bar and a whiskey bar, which should help soften the blow when your 7:45 to Denver gets delayed due to snow.
