A man was fatally struck by a train in the Bronx this morning, and police believe he may have been pushed. The victim, a man in his 60s, was fatally struck by a southbound D train at the 167th Street station near Grand Concourse around 8:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Cops say initial reports indicated he may have been pushed; one person was reportedly taken for questioning, but police could not confirm that. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.

Update: Cops have now confirmed that the victim, 61-year-old Wai Kuen Kwok, was indeed pushed into an oncoming train earlier today. It seems that the train’s operator saw someone push Kwok, but could not stop the train in time. Kwok’s wife was there at the time of the incident, and was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital for trauma. The couple were reportedly on their way to breakfast.
