Another pedestrian was killed by a city bus driver last night, making the fourth bus vs. pedestrian fatality in Queens in two months. Police say an unidentified 60-year-old man was crossing Union Street at Northern Boulevard around 10:30 p.m., from south to north within the crosswalk, when he was run over by the operator of a Q13 bus.

According to a preliminary investigation, the bus was traveling northbound on Union Street and was turning right onto Northern Boulevard, heading east, when it struck the man. He was pronounced dead at New York Hospital of Queens.

The bus driver remained at the scene and the NYPD CIS says the investigation is ongoing.

In September, a woman was fatally struck by the driver of a Q47 bus in Elmhurst, shortly after she stepped off the bus. In mid-October, another woman died after being run over by a Nassau Inter County Express Bus in Jamaica (one witness declared it was "100 percent the bus's fault."). And at the end of October a man was killed after being hit by an MTA bus driver in Ridgewood.

Yesterday we interviewed a veteran MTA bus driver about the challenges that come with the job.
