Disheveled brunch-seekers are going to have to totter a little further for their restorative lobster claw Bloody Marys: Lobster Joint, which was nearly drowned over the summer after a nearby water main broke, is closing its LES location for good. The eateries' owners posted the following notice to Facebook yesterday:

Lobster Joint Lower East Side to Close Permanently on Sunday 11/16/14

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of Lobster Joint’s LES location, effective November 16th.

It has been our great pleasure to serve this dynamic neighborhood for the past two years. We would like to thank our loyal patrons, employees, and vendors for embracing Lobster Joint since our opening in 2012.

Unfortunately, due to the continuing growth and development in the neighborhood, we must vacate our current address, despite our great success on Houston Street.

Please join us at our CLOSING PARTY, Sunday Nov. 16th, for an ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR to celebrate the final farewell of Lobster Joint’s Lower East Side Location.

Thank you. It was beautiful.

According to Bowery Boogie, the closure comes at the hand of notorious NYC developer Ben "The Sledgehammer" Shaoul, who is laying waste the block to make room for what we can reasonably assume will become luxury living quarters for finance bros and visiting billionaires.

Fortunately, Lobster Joint's flagship location in Greenpoint is alive and well. Check it out at 1073 Manhattan Avenue.
