Nina Pham, the first healthcare worker from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital diagnosed with Ebola, was transferred on Thursday to the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. Before she departed, the hospital posted a wrenching video of the 26-year-old nurse in her isolation unit.

It's hard to watch. Pham sits in her hospital bed while the eerie specter of an employee in full alien Hazmat gear lingers nearby. The hospital's critical care medicine chief Dr. Gary Weinstein tearfully thanked her for taking care of Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person to perish from the virus on U.S. soil. "This has been a huge effort by all of you guys," he said. "We're really proud of you."

Pham is currently doing as well as her circumstances will allow, doctors said. "She (is) in fair condition," Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said during a press conference. "We fully intend to have this patient walk out of this hospital."
