A Brooklyn man is in critical condition after he was struck by a Mercedes SUV driver yesterday afternoon. According to cops, the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on Saturday in East New York.

The 52-year-old victim, whose name hasn't been released, was crossing from north to south on Pitkin Avenue near Berriman Street when he was struck by the 68-year-old woman driving the Mercedes westbound on Pitkin. Police say the pedestrian was in the marked crosswalk, but was walking against the traffic light.

The pedestrian was propelled onto her hood, and then dragged until the woman hit two parked cars, and the victim was hurled underneath one of the cars. He was transported to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition; the driver suffered neck and back injuries, and was taken to the hospital for treatment as well. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

On Friday night, a woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver in while trying to help her dog, who had been struck by a separate driver, in Gravesend. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition as well.
