Just like the milkmen of yore, a "Brooklyn based bicycle delivery worker’s cooperative" wants to deliver fresh produce directly to your door. Full Lane Logstics has announced a fall CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program to Brooklyn residents beginning September 1st and running for 10 weeks. Each week, a bounty from the fall harvest can be delivered to your home or office via the company's unique cargo bikes, which sport a jaunty storage space in front of the rider. That's one fewer cog in the bike lane!
Produce from Enterprise Farm—a 100-acre farm that's been operating in the Berkshires since 1984—includes whatever organic veggies and fruits look best that week. Early fall could mean lettuces like dandelion and arugula; heartier vegetation like broccoli and beets; or pantry staples like onions and potatoes.
There are three sizes for the Fall CSA, starting at $291.40 for a small share (feeds 1 person per week for ten weeks) plus delivery, up to $431.80 for a large share (feeds a family of three to four per week) plus delivery. Deliveries by cargo bike arrive on Fridays within their large delivery zone. Pickups are also available at Full Lane's HQ at 47 Hall Street, Bed-Stuy Beer Works or Recycle-a-Bicycle in DUMBO if you're worried about someone dooring your melon.
