We like to pretend that New York City in the summer is just a fever dream, a slow-moving hallucination that we'll eventually wake from about two months before the Polar Vortex starts again. Sure, there are picnics and sailboats and beaches, but mostly there is sweating. Sweating on the subway. Sweating on first dates. So much sweat your eyes are burning because even your eyebrows can't keep up. (You had one job, eyebrows.)
Summer in New York City is impossible to explain in words to anyone who has not experienced it—the humidity alone, so cruel you'll want to stab it with an icicle. Summer here is smelly, it is unrelenting, and it will change you... but below, Colby Moore has put together two beautiful videos that almost make is seem appealing. Almost.
