This October, Pier 9's Red Hook Container Terminal will be transformed into NYC's latest music festival venue. The Escape Music Fest, a two-day affair, just announced its initial lineup this month, which includes Yeasayer, Placebo, the Crystal Method, Ra Ra Riot, and more. There will also be food, drink, and of course some sweet views from the waterfront location.
Organizer Merritt Quirk told DNAInfo, "You’re going to see this space become a real cultural hub for Red Hook. I see Red Hook in a very similar light to where Williamsburg was 10 to 15 years ago." Quirk hopes to sell around 8,000 tickets each day, and is currently working on more frequent ferry and bus service for that weekend.
Tickets are on sale now for $80, and more of the lineup will be announced leading up to the weekend of October 11th.
