Even if you aren't familiar with the name Berenice Abbott, you've most likely seen her iconic images. The photographer, and self-described "loner," photographed nearly every corner of the five boroughs in the 1930s. She captured a changing landscape, which included storefronts, churches, tenements, modern architecture, street views, and skylines. Yesterday marked what would have been her 116th birthday, which is a great excuse to sit back and revisit some of her photos.

For more, head over to the Museum of the City of New York, where they have thousands in their online archives.
