The Meatball Shop's balls continue to grow ever larger with the addition of their brand spanking new Upper West Side outpost, which debuts on tomorrow, Monday, July 14th. The Amsterdam Avenue shop will have all the tender meat morsels as its compatriots around the city—the spicy pork is especially good—plus the accoutrements like pastas, polenta, bread and sauces. There's room for 68 in the dining room and 8 more at the bar, making it one of the smaller shops. However, they'll also be debuting their first walk-up window, which will be a great way to bypass the lines for seating that plague the other locations.
Grab your balls to go—the sandwich versions are especially well-suited for this—beginning with dinner opening week and then lunch and late night starting July 21st. They'll also have another first at the new locale: an ice cream cart that'll dish out the shop's house-made ice cream sandwiches like Lemon Fro-Yo and Sour Cherry Lambic with Dark Chocolate Fudge and Hazelnut Snickerdoodle cookies.
447 Amsterdam Avenue between 81st and 82nd Streets, (212) 422-1752; website. Open Monday, July 14th - Sunday, July 20th 5 p.m. - 12 a.m. Starting Monday, July 21st, business hours will be Sunday - Thursday 11:30 a.m. - 12 a.m. and Friday/Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 2 a.m.
