A team of intrepid college kids already proved it takes 9 hours to visit (and selfie-fy) all 118 subway stops in Manhattan. But it appears they've been outdone by a bunch of Brits, who set the Guinness World Record for visiting every subway stop in the city in just 22 hours, 26 minutes and 2 seconds.
26-year-old Glen Bryant and his five-person team—Adham Fisher, Martin Hazel, Andi James, Peter Smyth and Steve Wilson—set the record on November 18th and 19th, but it was only recently confirmed—just in time for Independence Day! They visited all 468 stations in Queens, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan—and took photos—from 3 a.m. on the 18th until 1 a.m. the following day. A few days later, they hit up the entire Staten Island Railway, too. "We were up for 26 hours and if it wasn’t for my teammates, I probably would have fallen asleep,” Bryant told the Daily Mail. “There was no celebration at the end. It was more like, ‘Can we go to bed now?’”
The record had previously been set by two New Yorkers in 2009, who were somehow not jaded enough by the C train and visited all the subway stops in 22 hours and 52 minutes.
