With the Manhattan skyline's reflection shining brightly in its crystal clear windows, the new Shake Shack in DUMBO is the Brooklyn waterfront's latest Siren on the shore. "Shroooooooom burger," it called to us this morning, but our head hit the glass and we were told to come back at 11 a.m. when it was opening.
Oh hey: surprise, DUMBO! (Or, for the purists, surprise, Fulton Ferry!) Your Shake Shack opens today. The 1 Old Fulton Street corner space has been under construction for months, and the company just got the go ahead to open the doors. Not everything is a go just yet: they have also proposed a sidewalk cafe to Community Board 2, which will be voted on June 23rd.
Inside they've got 3,200-square-feet, which we'll be checking out a little later today—stay tuned for that followup post, which is really just an excuse to procure some Concretes on a humid day.

EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK INSIDE THE NEW SHAKE SHACK (Jen Carlson/Gothamist)
For now, we offer the above photo, and this bit of design intel: Shake Shack has a commitment to green architecture, and notes that their interior walls are "clad in reclaimed Alaskan Yellow Cedar from retired rooftop water towers on Manhattan’s Upper East Side."
Here's their menu, which includes a special Jane Carousel Concrete (the Caramel Carousel), featuring vanilla frozen custard ice cream, bits of sugar cone, sea salt caramel sauce, and banana.
