Barcade, the perfectly nostalgic bar with vintage arcade games hand-selected as carefully as the beer options, currently operates out of three spots in Williamsburg, Jersey City, and Philly. But that's about to change, with two new Manhattan spots on the way.
We dropped by the first one—located at 148 West 24 Street in Chelsea—earlier this week, and co-owner Paul Kermizian told us a little about what to expect: "We will have our usual selection of American craft beer, only on draft. We'll have 24 draft lines and one beer engine for cask ale with a focus on the northeast and local breweries." On top of that, they'll have a full kitchen, run by chef Lee Knoeppel, who you may know from The Taste ("He has a very cool and fun menu planned"). But it's really about the games, which will be classics ranging from the 1970s through 1990s, all priced at 25 cents. Click through to check out the selection.
There's no opening date yet, but start saving your quarters because it should all be happening in the next month or so. Up next, Barcade is headed to St. Mark's, provided they get Community Board approval.
