Police are looking for a cyclist who struck and seriously injured an elderly man in Midtown then fled the scene.
According to an NYPD release, the 69-year-old victim was crossing West 40th Street near 6th Avenue at around 2:07 p.m. last Monday when he was hit by the cyclist, who is described as a Hispanic male wearing a grey hoodie. The pedestrian suffered a fractured skull, and was placed in a medically induced coma at Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Anyone with information in regards to this hit and run is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS, or by submitting their tips at the Crime Stoppers Website, or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are confidential.
