A man was fatally struck by a train in Manhattan this morning. According to FDNY, the person was struck by a C train at the 50th Street Station just around 11 a.m. Saturday. The MTA adds that the man, who hasn't been identified yet, was on the road bed when the C train was pulling into the station; he was declared dead at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, the southbound A and C trains are running on the D line from 59 St-Columbus Circle to W 4 St-Washington Square. Southbound E trains are running on the M line from 5 Av/53 St to W 4 St-Washington Square. MTA adds that as an alternate, customers can transfer at 59 St-Columbus Circle to the 1 train or take the M20 bus. Check here for more updates on service changes.

Update: According to the Post, the 64-year-old victim had jumped onto the tracks to retrieve some jewelry he had dropped. He was fatally struck before he was able to get back onto the platform.
