The Chevy Impala is what gun-wielding, drunk GM execs crashed on a joy ride with Ken Cosgrove in the last season of Mad Men. But what did their campaign for that car look like? This commercial takes you on a two minute, much less eventful joy ride through Manhattan in a cherry red Chevy Impala convertible (certainly a lot nicer than the Vega). Click play and cruise the main drags of 1960s NYC... with an invisible driver behind the wheel:
The car was totally redesigned in 1965, so this could be one of their first ads unveiling the new look.
