The list of skyline drinking establishments continues to grow with the opening of The Roof tomorrow inside the Viceroy Hotel just south of Central Park. And that's just what you'll be looking at when you're up there, in addition to neighboring buildings and points north. It may not be the highest, but the 1,200 square foot outdoor terrace—which opens daily at 3 p.m. and stays open until 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays—affords lovely views all the way to the top of the park even when the sun sets.

The equally large interior bar area should "evoke the aesthetic of a luxury yacht," according to the press release. What does that mean? "Ipe floors, brass details, custom walnut-and-leather sofas and thoughtfully curated images of sky, sea and clouds by famed photographer Dalton Portella." It's like a millionaire's Man Cave with billion dollar views.

Name-checking yachts implies pricey booze but the cocktails ($13 - $16) are standard for the genre. Drinks like a GG Manhattan, Sider F1 and Spicy Palmoa are mixed using small batch spirits and fresh ingredients; beers are local, wines international. Marc Murphey's Kingside restaurant, which opened inside the hotel last fall, provides bar bites like a Burger with house-made American cheese ($20), a Grilled 3 Cheese sandwich ($14) and Chickpea Falafel with pomegranate yogurt ($16).

124 West 57th Street, 212-707-8008; theroofny.com. The lounge operates daily from 3 p.m. to 4 a.m.; the terrace opens daily at 3 p.m. and closes at 1 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday
