True Detective's penultimate episode airs Sunday night, and we haven't been sleeping much. How the hell is this whole thing going to end? Is the Yellow King a person or a drug or something even more sinister? Is it Marty? Or is Marty involved in covering this whole thing up? Is Maggie's mysterious father the key to this whole thing? Or the guy on the lawnmower outside creepy Reverend Tuttle's creepy school? Or the stenographer's new boyfriend? Is Ginger still in that ditch? Everyone's a suspect. So many questions, and so much haunted ground to cover in just two hours. But if you think you're obsessed with this case, you should see the focus and intensity the Reddit Investigation Squad has brought to the True Detective subreddit. They've got 'em working in shifts. Click through on the images to peruse some of the most innnnnteresting discoveries they've made after meticulously reviewing all six episodes. There are SPOILERS, obviously, if you haven't seen all six.The image you see above is a different version of a photo glimpsed in the first episode, on a shelf in Dora Lange's mother's home (you remember, the heartbroken lady with the headaches and the bad fingers from working in dry cleaning all those years). On screen, the photo is aged and weathered, but jcm043 found this version, and, given the context of the show, it's creepy as a heart attack. (Note the five men on horseback mirror the five men surrounding Marty's daughter's Barbie, as well as the five stick men carved out of Lone Star beer cans.) But maybe it's nothing. Apparently the photo references Mardi Gras customs in rural Louisiana, during which men in costumes ride around on horses. What you see in this photo is probably totally innocent! Yup, innocent as a father bathing his own daughter.
